As the days lengthen, and the temperatures begin to rise, It’s a great time to get out and about before the season gets really busy and enjoy the area ourselves! This week I walked down to Clovelly Harbour with my book in my backpack. Sitting right at the end of the quay to get the maximum time in the sun, I soaked up the warm spring sunshine as I topped up my dose of Vitamin D.

On other days, driving out from the cottage we can choose to go North East to Exmoor, South East to Dartmoor or South West into Cornwall. So many villages and country pubs to discover along the way, as we explore the wonderful North Devon coast and countryside.

Setting off around 9.30am we arrive in plenty of time for morning coffee at 11am (either from a flask or in a tearoom) before setting off on a spring walk to seek out paths and routes to recommend to our guests. After a couple of hours walking, enjoying the sights and magnificent scenery, we’ll either stop beside a gentle running stream to eat a picnic or find a country pub for a delicious lunch.

This part of North Devon is such a joy to explore, we can’t wait to share our local knowledge with those who have found us!
