Having said goodbye to our Christmas guests, who loved their time in our cosy cottage, we now have so much to look forward to in the coming weeks.
It won’t be long before the beautiful sight of drifts of snowdrops looking so fragile yet so strong appear along our walks from Clovelly Court Gardens to the top of the cobbled street.
We’ll hear the clattering of tin cans being dragged down the cobbles as the children chase the devil into the sea in the old Clovelly custom of ‘Lansherd’ in February.
Our winter has been so mild, the daffodils are already pushing their way through the soil, soon to be joined by colourful crocus in the Spring.
And before we know it, we’ll be setting off for our annual walk in the woods around Hartland to see the masses of bluebells as we cover a two-mile circular route with coastal views across Bideford Bay.
